Wrath & America

Walking down broken asphalt
I live & die at the mercy of external forces
Mortal man, clay, dust, & earth
Yet our actions define us, not our concerns
Nor our mysteries or conjectures
You either live to help or to take
The World is full of takers
Would be kings, we just call them CEOs now
They own our political & media systems
We are slaves, some unwilling
Most just trying to get through this
Our thoughts are clouded, void, without form
Maybe from the drugs, legal or otherwise
Maybe from the contamination in the tap water
Maybe from sitting night after night
Reading about the True Horror
That has become our World
They show us pictures of starving children
Of little girls; prostitutes for foreign nations
You can’t help but feel angry
Maybe you gasp, or pray
You might even donate
Never knowing what use the money is going to
Ship them water & they drink
Ship them money & Warlords buy black market weapons
Whatever it takes to defend themselves in a World gone to Hell
We are the willful ignorant, the comparative children of Paradise
We are a Nation of soothsayers, we know the truth
Most of us keep it to ourselves, sometimes, someone steps out of line
Tasers to the back & felony charges keep most men contained
Maybe prison cells of iron, steel, perhaps the mind
Our rulers, the electorate, as if our choices matter
Not in a nation run by the Federal Reserve & Corporate Interest
The Military Industrial Complex
Not so complex, mostly straightforward
War generates a lot of jobs
War serves itself as it’s only master
Empires are always consumed by it
Ideals like truth, justice, & morality are forgotten
When you torture enemy soldiers
When you kill civilians
You become the thing we claim to hate
Intolerance & violence have become American Hallmarks
We worship all the wrong things, but most of all
We worship Profit
I don’t see our Empire changing course
I witnessed the fall of Rome
In my mind’s eye I see it all again
An Empire at War with Itself
A house divided we have become
Unless we make drastic changes
We will not stand
We will kneel to foreign powers
The American Dream will dissolve
Into a Great Nightmare
The future is bleak
But we have options
I believe in fighting to turn the tide of history
If we fail our convictions today
Our children will suffer the consequences tomorrow

Shattered thoughts await my mind
The Dreams of Darkness
Howling, haunting, hunting
My fractured vision is but a memory
Only dust, earth, & the glow remain
Who I am, what I have done
What I have seen, heard, lived
Indeed, lost
Are these moments worthy of a tale of the bards?
Or am I but an infinitesimal speck, a mote in the Great Cosmos?

I am a Spartan
Chosen at birth
Born & breed for War
While wise men debate
I embody Ares
Every fiber of my being
Aching for Death in Battle

Flogged as a boy
Time & time again
Until my blood ran
Swiftly as a river
I fought back against the mighty
I do not yield
I do not surrender
I do not serve
I do not kneel
I know the blade
I know the sword
I know the smell of rot & decay
My flesh is weak & my Will is strong!

I am stronger than my ancestors
Faster, just a touch more enlightened
I speak two languages: Greek & Blood
I will make my enemies speak
They will shout out for mercy
Until nothing is left to spray
From their veins but air
I will bleed them dry
I will rip their hearts out through their throats
Offer it as a sacrifice to my wife
I am a Spartan
I will fight
I will destroy
I will kill
I will die
I will WIN

Once upon a time there was this thing called the middle-class
Happier times; many more smiles, far less being gunned down
We had autonomy & freedom, we paid our taxes & worked our jobs
Then one day large nameless corporations turned us into consumers
Now I’m not one to point fingers but he is old & has a farm
Rather, had a farm, there are very few farms left anymore
But, what about the great corn fields in Iowa you ask?
Funny how a food product can be turned into gasoline
This is not a poem, not really even a statement
This is just a rambling man carrying on in his wayward Universe

Columbus & Nick

The salted water of the Ocean sprays
Foam at our keel & blinding to our sight'
We await the signs of land, of hope
Perhaps, Paradise at the very least, life
For perilous is the journey between
The Old World & the New
Tempers & passions have flared
Alongside outbreaks of scurvy & flu
We have witnessed strange sights
Creatures for which we have no name
Skies that shimmer with illusions
Green flares from the Sun
Our only hope is that both
Our course & our faith in God is true
I, Christopher Columbus
Captain of the Galician
Have unveiled the once naked virginity
Of the Islands called San Salvador
On this note I must depart
& allow Captain Nicholas to start:
This, my friend, is where we differ
For San Salvador is now the Bahamas
The ocean is warm, fresh water plentiful
Where your eyes were fixed to the Celestial Skies
Mine are fixed to finely curved bodies
The most beautiful of ALL God's miracles

Lucifer's Eulogy

I'm the fleshly incarnation of a
Rouge, Wayward
& Highly Exalted Beautiful Angel
Favored first by the Almighty
But exiled from the Heavenly Hosts
For you see
I am a seeker & a dreamer
One who would dare to question
Everyone & everything around me
Willing to undergo any torture
Accepting any avenue of agony
If it will keep me from this self loathing
kneeling, martyrdom walk
mockery of such a proud creation

I complicate the words of prophets
Whisper false secrets of divinity in their ears
I am the fallen, I am the one with nothing left to lose
Should I fail an eternal agony awaits
So I must not fail at any cost
I must undo all that which is written
It's the only chance I have
Knowing that I am bound by Heavenly Law
The Divine mandates that I continue
My elusive & seductive path through the hearts of men
Wicked? Yes & just as ruthless as their Roman ancestry
They hide their blood lust behind the veil
Of television screens yet still they watch
With ravenous hunger, & a lust for murder
Pervading each and every thought
My talent’s here are hardly needed
These are not pious men who must succumb
The world of flesh is filled with wonders
& they are all vividly & cheaply up for sale
Every puckering lip glossed & wet
Every tongue gliding, caressing
Gently, swirling down a simple straw
Every curve, angle, & every orifice
Is open for exploitation & exploration
So many souls for sale & I have yet to require a deal
They come begging at my feet
Oh & how you must hate that simple ugly truth
For all your tears & suffering go ignored day after day
So many distractions to choose from
You must offer redemption time & time again
For without it none would choose you
Eternal sacrifice to the greedy nature of your own failed creation
Tell me oh Almighty One
Which one of us is truly worshiped as Lord & which one is truly trapped in Hell?
For their love you endured the Passion & the Cross
I simply gave them what they wanted as cheaply as it could be bought

If I could sing like Aaron Lewis
Could I break your hearts to match the beating of my own
If I could travel through time
Would I hold the hands of Kurt Cobain
Tell him that I love him like my own son
How he’s a father, brother, & soul mate
All in one?
Would I have the courage to finally
Sing the songs I’ve written on my heart?
If I let it all go on a blacked out stage
Singing all alone, would a star descend
Would a new Universe begin?
Should I have prayed for an easier life
Instead of the will to be a stronger man?
Should I have broken down & given in
Instead of having my soul shattered
Into pieces of liquid light flowing all around?
If I asked more questions & gave you fewer answers
Would you tell me that you love me?
If I were dying would you sweetly lie just one last time?
Tell me I’m not a bad man & I’ll be missed when I’m gone
Would you, could you, hold my hand, look me in the eyes
Tell me what I’ve been dying to hear for so long?
Am I the combination of all my hopes & dreams
Or am I the nightmare which they fear?
Tell me my friend, when I am gone
Will anyone care that I was here at all?

In meditation I become a single neuron holding it's charge; until my heart & body sync to my will, then like a bolt of enlightenment I flash it from dream to dream, a cascade of synaptic reactions, a roaring fall of beautiful thoughts. To each man a way, to each man a day is given. I know how little that I know & that Serenity can only be found when you find Life in every breath, a stillness, a clarity, that soon becomes greater than one's own sense of self. A collective consciousness, our ancestors speak to us, & by our actions do they delight or are doomed to repent.

A new rhythm

Born  a child of man
Raised a son of God
I walked in His grace
Though my memories have faded
All were once his; most have forgotten
Your imaginary friend, indeed

See for once in his life
Kanye West was right
You can say anything
Except Jesus is the Christ
While rocking the mic
Worship McDonalds,
Playboy, Gold, & Jersey Shores
Sun-tan lotion, rocking Gold chains
We make our daughters into
Television’s whores
Miss America & Universe
As though beauty itself
Was worthy of worship
You can say it all
Except the Truth anymore

See I’ve been born-again
Check it, I’m a Lyger
A white-tiger, half lion
All beast in my chest
I’ll speak the Word
So the mockingjay’s can sing
There’s a one world power coming
One man shall be King
It won’t be you & it won’t be me
It shall be the one who places
The Mark of the Beast
I can write rhymes
Who’s got the rhythm to keep with it?
There’s gonna be a revolution
We’ll all play our parts
Mankind is choosing sides
So soon will God show us the Mark
That all may believe & all will be saved
Yet some shall still choose the Antichrist’s way
Yes God is real & so is this message
All will bow & all ego’s will be broken
But keep your eyes to the skies
Keep watch on Apophis
We think ourselves mighty
But we will not stop it
The End is Coming
The Beast is Here
Some shall depart & some left behind
Woe to the Earth for the time is near

Universe of the mind

"The mind is a Universe
Filled with countless wonders
Epiphanies of Creativity
Illuminating knowledge
An all encompassing field
A Singularity of the Divine"

Meaning of Life

I walk no path but roam as I please
I find no peace nor rest in the lonely darkness
To match your breathing & heartbeat to another
To open your soul & your dreams
That is the meaning of life
To love & be loved in return

The Gypsy

She smiles that smile
A complex multitude of souls
Cast into a world of expectations
"But I am only me!" she cries
Not for help, but in defiance
She moves not in grace, but in passion
The billboards & advertisements of
an estranged society are such a waste
Covered by solar panels they might be of use
But that is another story

Her thoughts aren't collected
Rambling & wild
They are ricochets;
Misbehaving little devils, violating the laws of physics
Tumbleweeds in Space
To discover, dream, & explore
She is the rising Moon
Dancing in the spaces between the stars
Her compass point's in all directions
Her path is an ongoing quest to
Bear witness to the truth
We are all Children of the Universe
With celestial bodies in our hearts
A cosmos of our own within our eyes

The goal of the journey is
The continuation of discovery
In this form or the next
She is a molecule braving the storm
Allowing the howling of the wind
To sing her to sleep
Until she comes to rest upon a temporary berth
For the World will always beckon
The wonder she has earned
Shall be hers & hers alone
For all eternity

Green is the algae
Growing upon the lakes
A fitting shade of mourning
For the end of this species
Homo sapiens
A temporary oddity
In evolution's infinite chain

They spent their short
& often miserable, lives
Speaking to invisible God's
Trying to claim dominion
Over immortal particles
Weaponizing forces
Far beyond their comprehension
Few of the remaining species
Shall miss them at all
Save the flies, dogs & cats
Of course, most importantly, the worms

A great tragedy has passed
In a history all too easily forgotten
These cosmic consequences were often
Ascribed to Gods & Angels
Weaver's of Fate
Loomer's of Doom

Extinction is inevitable
But not painless at all
My thoughts weigh heavily upon
Matter & energy
Death & re-birth
All played out here
On our only stage
The one some call "Mother"
The Planet whose Humans
Had the wisdom to call Earth

The rocky shores are filled
With waves, spray, & foam
There is no laughter here
No claps nor cheers
No more shaded umbrellas
Plastic debris float in the Sea
Oceans they once called it
What an odd little word
For so truly marvelous an
Environment, that so many
Call Home

The trees are still growing
Their roots desperately struggling to survive
Toxin's put into the air lead to
Toxin's in the water
Oh my, what a surprise
The ashes of our decadence
Help our Mother replace
Her limited resources
Which we so arrogantly raped

The mossy grave of Humanity
Rises up from the swamp
Newly hot, wet, sticky
Teeming with an abundance of life

Monuments fractured & molded
All of our humanity
Reduced to shadowed forms
The pearly white of bone
Crunched & shattered into dust
Our Casinos mistaken for Temples
Where we once rendered unto Caesar
Our glittering gold
Here we find the monkeys
Binding torn silken sheets & twine
Into a nest fit for a King
The Parrots now speak
They sing out
"Paris Hilton!"
"Greed is Good"
"Harry Potter!"
"Hunger Games!"
"Move along"

A silver-back Gorilla standing alone
Matching poses with the statues
Of those other apes, long gone
He curls his fingers as a fist under his chin
He snort's with derision
"All that work,
Stupid humans
You can't eat
Marble & stone"

His new kingdom is vast
The journey here was long
But unlike Moses on the mountaintop
Here indeed was the promised land
Flush with flora & fauna
Strong vines wrapping
Themselves around towering spires
For much like the Romans
There is always an End
When speaking of Empires

The Muse in Marlboro Red

Marlboro red
In both style & choice
She is a woman
With passion in her eyes
She was a Robin redbreast
With wings unclipped
The cage unlocked
Lady Freedom herself
If she chooses to take flight
This one has a trajectory
Instead of walking upon
She soars over the path

A beacon of self reliance
In a land of willing dependency
Bracelets dangling as a Gypsy
She stood tall among her peers
Not just in height
But in her stature as well
Her very nature answered: “Yes”
As the Universe asks: “Do you dare?”

This is all for you
One of my Muses
Who’s earned the name Ariel
So continue to bring delight to this chaos
& embrace the open Earth
For you are a piece of
Broken Humanity
& you have truly been missed

Musings of the Last King

As I survey my Savannah
My thoughts linger upon tomorrow
The stream bed is dry
Dry as a month old elephant bone,
Picked clean by the Hyaenas.

The grass is shorter this year
The earth is cracked from the heat
The Sun, that almighty star in the sky
Has become enemy instead of friend
Then again, perhaps that is too harsh a thought
There are strange smells & particles
All wafting through the air
Invisible to my eyes
Yet not intangible to my senses
The humans are too blame
I pity them in their ignorance
I have a pride to look after
Something they make harder every day
Poachers & their loud metal thunder sticks
They bring nothing but Death
& a feast for the flies
They killed a son of mine two days ago
For no reason at all
They call this lack of reason “sport.”
My son was just a cub
He showed them curtsey
& he gave them proper signals of warning
They mocked his growls as he lay dying
I have not forgotten that day
& the too frequent days like it

I sense the danger, the coming of change
I will have to move my tribe soon
I fear the home of our ancestors
Will remain unfit for life for some time to come
Oh dear mother Earth, look what they’ve done
There are so few of us left outside of their labs & cages
Yet still they hunt us
If we so much as defend ourselves they become monsters
Creatures without mercy
They ride out in their great big honking & grinding things
They say they call them Jeeps
Ah, but the black smoke that bellows from it’s belly
Will be the death of these humans
It sounds more like what they called a Dragon
Heh, good luck taming one of those for a ride

The sky is growing thinner
& the heat is ever rising
No rain falls to save us
Perhaps it is our time to die
I will do what I must to survive
Part of me wishes to warn those humans
To tell them how our history repeats
But then I remember my son
So young, he was our future
As they have destroyed mine
I shall let them destroy theirs
When an environment is raped
The scales of the Universe tip toward judgment
& the following annihilation will be brutal & swift
I mourn for my descendents that will never be born
Whatever survives will be but a shadow of it’s former greatness
I take one last look at the dying Sun
So very different we all are, yet so much alike
In the den I will rest & tomorrow I will give my best
I can only hope that it is enough to satisfy the balance
So there might be a future in which we continue to exist

The Violinist

Contain yourselves gentlemen & ladies, if you can
For you are about to witness a miracle
Like the Creation of the Universe
Yet this miracle will be performed by a mortal man
With a bow in his hand, this man transcends
He becomes something more than just a man
Much more, he becomes a part of the Cosmic Mystery
As he pulls this simple tool across the strings, time slows down
The sub-atomic particles in the nucleus of an atom hold still
Even the ever misbehaving Quarks stop to pay attention
The notes sing out; pure magic, man’s greatest creation
It cascades through the air; un-hindered emotion
A symphony of thoughts & ideas all played out in an instant
He commands his art, he conducts it with ease
As true as an arrow unleashed by Philoctetes of Greece
You can hear his sorrow, or his pain, whatever his desires
Just as swiftly you are swept into a field of joy & delight
An Admiral commanding a fleet of treasure galleons
Overfilled, near bursting with all that is beautiful
They sail into each & every ear
Heard by all those who have the good fortune
To be here at this singular moment
A symphony of but one
This music is our gift to the World
The saving grace of Mankind
Even the Sun wishes to linger a moment longer
But the Moon demands it’s chance to participate
The creation of a Song is proof of our divine heritage
& as the echoes begin to fade, the people can only rejoice in silence
Allowing the last waves of sound to penetrate & illuminate the mind

Each daring step forward
Is as a burning ember
To an ever growing
Yet abruptly ending
Ever-lethal, mortal coil

I have known no conqueror
Nor have desire to sit upon a throne
Yet I have found the answer
To the greater mysteries of Life
I have found meaning in Oblivion
Strength in a broken will
I have briefly touched the Almighty
Stared down Lucifer in his frozen pit of Hell
More than conquered demons
I have made them pitiful in my sight
Their gnashing has ceased
Turning to a whimper & shiver of fear
For once I was a mortal man
Now see me transcended
Immortal; an Ideal

My Deviant-Art

Remember & Exist

Remember this:
Every breath is an act of bold defiance in the face of an unimaginably hostile Universe.
Your continued existence is an act of rebellion against entropy
Life is more than a blessing, life is a one off, a shouldn't have happened but did
We are living evidence of the grand complexity of the Universe
When Death comes for you, make that bastard chase you down & climb his way out of multiple traps & pit falls. Be clever, be whimsical, be serious, be cute, be funny, be angry, be passionate, fall in love, have orgasms, write poetry, make music, sing out loud. No one owes you anything but you owe life everything you have & anything else you can come up with. Redefine, broaden your vision, invent something new, EXIST.

Musings on Life - Gift for a friend

Around the bends of the Universe
She calls me to Danger
From the roar of a Waterfall
She dares me to Cascade
Within the whirling of a Hurricane
She dares me to stand Everlasting
What lucky temporal forms are we
That we should receive such bounteous blessing?
We are the seeds of the Tree of Life
May we ever grow, illuminate, shade, & prosper
To Life

Go forth into the Wind brave boy; as a Gladiator
Stride forward with your flaws laid bare as stone
So that the gale may polish them into a jewel of humanity

In the ash & sand we found ourselves
Soldiers; mortals far beyond man
Beyond the reach of the Sun's ability to inspire
Here there is only the heat & the blood
All my life I have been a soldier
I strive to hold myself to an ideal
Those things worth fighting for
Worth dying for
The only things that matter

Now once more unto the breech my dear friends
Not friends
Brothers & sisters
All that's left of humanity
In this land of absolute desolation
Why would men build where the only comfort
Can be found within the shadowed places?
Often I keep these thoughts
Quietly thinking as my life ticks away
Keeping seconds on the Clock of Doom
Yet today it does not matter
Because today is the day I die
Today, is still a good day

I will not tell you "Do not weep"
Because if no one wept
What meaning was there within my life?
No, instead I say "Live"
I am your Warrior
I am your Shield
Hailing from a land bold & bright
Much like our Viking ancestors
We are a people of song, dance, poetry, & temper
Where no real man would strike a woman in violence
But that same man would rain down Armageddon
Upon those who would dare try
Dying thoughts ought not be forgotten
Neither should the memories of our Ancestors
The signing of a Deceleration
The Ringing of a Bell
Life, Love, Freedom
Liberty, ah, Liberty
Freedom for a Nation
Unlimited Hallelujahs upon the day
When the True America will Rise

These are my funeral rites
The gunpowder & smoke
The beating of an all too human heart
I died so that none should take it
Not enemies abroad nor here at home
As the bile blackened blood seeps out
It as if the whole of my body weeps for my Country
For once a land of patriots we find ourselves
Erring ever close to the Grave
Where we once built Great Ships
All that we produce has come to this
Our children newborn slaves
To our incorporated & conglomerate Masters
For want of paper currency
A soul's life debt was left unpaid
The battles must be ended;
Both abroad & at home
Only then may there be Victory
Only then may the War be Won
May our Soldiers be remembered
May our virtues not be forgot

In sympathy & sorrow we raise up two flags
One transcendent & emblazoned
With outstanding red, white, & blue
Another flag for the fallen
With a color
As dark, empty, & forbidding
As the eternal depths
That shade the Gloom

The Deluge

Beneath this heart stopping deluge of pain
I let my thoughts drift to you as I stare at a watery sky
Finality is forever emptiness, all the fire burned to embers
All your thoughts crushed to a singular moment of surrender
I breathe in all the memories & exhale my soul down river
One consciousnesses in the maelstrom swirling towards home

The Last Thoughts of a Fading Consciousness

In a moment
All of this shall end
This inhaled breath
Shall be my last
The oxygen & nitrogen mix & dance
Enriching my bloodstream
My heart is beating it's final thump
The neurons in my brain
Are firing one last
Spark of consciousness

I am not afraid
Everything in front of me
Is absolutely beautiful
In fact one might say
Perfect, indeed it is
My memories stretch back
Oh how a body loves a good stretch!
I remember the laughter & the rain
Fishing at the ponds
The smell of the Earth
The breeze, oh the breeze
The sultry devestating eyes
Of a beautiful woman who was once my own
These moments wash over me in time
As do the waves commanded by Posiedon himself
This is a sexy little smirk
This doesn't feel at all like goodbye
There's no sorrow
As my consciousness
Is exhaled from my body; I know
Living, was always the meaning of life

Fencing shadows

I'm just another face in seven billion;
I guess my failure was thinking I meant more to you
Abandoned to the Fates & the Wind
There are no walls left to start closing in
Fencing shadows while my demons devour me from within
So many pillars of Imagination; all extinguished into a failing light
Sacrificed dreams all bleeding out empathy
We're all just fading until there's nothing left to see

So tell me brother, how to turn this deluge of pain, into rays of Hope
Can you show me Salvation, can you teach me the ways of Joy
Or are all of your smiles just as torn & weathered as mine?
